Nana is a master percussionist and Saleem is a wind instrument virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist. Their years of performing experience is shared on this enlightened recording journey. The sound of the hand pan is awakened by Nana’s gifted interpretation of djembe drumming to shape and deliver many musical moods. Saleem layers each composition with tonal fluidity and ethereal notes that takes you on a musical journey. The music tracks follow the path of the drummer across the Serengeti, to Nights by the River, the festive Marketplace, walking in Footprints and meditating in Quiet Time. The latter half of the cd will have you up tempo as Happy Feet inspires a dance or two, Imprompt-two awakes the inner jazz, while Revelation uplifts for the last two instrumental reprise.
